Support Essential Services.</h2>Relief Services is looking for a dependable Septic and Plumbing Laborer to support our septic, sewer, and plumbing crews in the Chico area.This is a hands-on, outdoor position for someone who is comfortable towing and backing trailers, has a basic understanding of septic or plumbing work, and wants to continue building practical skills in the field. You will work alongside experienced technicians while helping prepare equipment, support service and installation work, maintain safe job sites, and provide respectful service at customer properties.Formerly known as Chico Septic, Relief Services has served the Chico area for more than 25 years. We take pride in quality work, dependable service, and treating our customers and their property with care.<h2 style="margin-bottom: 4pt; margin-top: 18pt;">What You Will Do</h2><h3>Prepare for Scheduled Jobs</h3><ul><li>Prepare company vehicles, trailers, tools, and materials for scheduled service calls and projects.</li><li>Inspect equipment and help ensure crews have the materials needed for each job.</li><li>Safely connect, tow, back, park, and maneuver work trailers at residential and job sites.</li></ul><h3>Support Septic, Sewer, and Plumbing Work</h3><ul><li>Locate and expose septic tanks, lids, cleanouts, and related system components.</li><li>Assist technicians with septic pumping, inspections, repairs, and installations.</li><li>Support basic plumbing and sewer work as directed by the lead technician.</li><li>Use common hand and power tools safely and appropriately.</li></ul><h3>Maintain Safe and Professional Job Sites</h3><ul><li>Dig, backfill, and assist with other site preparation and restoration work.</li><li>Help protect customer property throughout the job.</li><li>Keep work areas organized, clean, and safe.</li><li>Follow established safety procedures while working around septic and sewage systems.</li></ul><h3>Communicate and Document Job Progress</h3><ul><li>Share job updates and unexpected site conditions with the Operations Coordinator and lead technician.</li><li>Complete required job notes and photos.</li><li>Communicate respectfully and professionally with customers and team members.</li></ul><h2 style="margin-bottom: 4pt; margin-top: 18pt;">Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Experience towing and maneuvering trailers, including backing and parking at residential or job sites.</li><li>Familiarity with septic, sewer, or plumbing systems.</li><li>Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.</li><li>Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.</li><li>Dependable attendance and clear communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively as part of a field service team.</li><li>Comfortable performing hands-on outdoor work in changing weather conditions and around septic and sewage systems.</li></ul><h2 style="margin-bottom: 4pt; margin-top: 18pt;">Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Experience in construction, excavation, landscaping, or a related field.</li><li>Previous hands-on experience supporting septic, sewer, plumbing, or similar service work.</li></ul><h2 style="margin-bottom: 4pt; margin-top: 18pt;">Physical Demands and Work Environment</h2>This is an active field position that involves digging, lifting and moving materials, working on uneven ground, and performing work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
